A Trip Through Bristol, TN

Justin is from the tiny little town of Bluff City, TN which was foundef in 1767. The next town over is Bristol, home of the Bristol Motor Speedway. We drove through town and had a look at some of the landmarks.

A view of town from the highway. Almost all ofthe buildings are made entirely of red bricks.

This giant guitar welcomes visitors. There are are lots of paintings and scsculptures of guitars throughout the town.
An example of more red brick conconstruction. I wonder how old these buildings are? I also really loved the steeple of the church in the background.
Another huge guitar.
Just what this town needs: a gun show lol
I found this derelict truck To be amusing since it was in a clearing in the middle of town.
Bristol is partway in Virginia and partway in Tennessee.
Another guitar. Marcy watches through the window while I take photos.
Sign: "The Crooked Road: Virginia's Heritage Music Trail". I'm assuming that it is some kind of scenic route.
Tennessee is crisscrossed with railroad tracks that lead to every factory in the area. You can't drive far without crossinfg some train tracks.
A beautiful cemetery surrounded by mountains.
A cool old theatre in the heart of town. I'm not entirely sure if it is in operation, though... notice the boat in the entrance lol
This sign lights up in brilliant white lights at night.

All in all we had a terrific time cruising around Justin's old haunts. I cannot wait until Christmas is over so that we can go to some historical sites like Sycamore Shoals, Sugar Mountain, or Cherokee National Forest (we are actually IN Cherokee National Forest but we aren't at an actual historical site). Yay!
